Accommodation, food and transport within Finland will be provided by the organizer.

Travel costs will be covered according to the travel policy. You may have to pay for your travels in your home country.

Where will I stay?

Participants will stay at Hotel Arthur in the city center of Helsinki. Buses will take the participants from the hotel to the Summit venue and back. Those who need an accessible hotel room will stay at Hanaholmen which is the Summit venue.

The participants will be accommodated in two-person-rooms with separate beds and with a room mate of the same gender. If you need a room of your own, please let us know in the application.

Where is the Summit held and is it accessible?

The Summit is held at Hanaholmen, the Finnish-Swedish Cultural Center. You can read more about Hanaholmen’s accessibility here at their website.

What is the language of the Summit?

The Summit is held in English.

What is the program like?

We will kick off the Summit with a panel discussion, keynote speakers and workshops that will all introduce us to the topics of the Summit; the green transition and youth employment. After that, we will move on to the most important part of the Summit: the working groups that will create policy recommendations for the Nordic Council of Ministers!

There are plenty of coffee breaks and other opportunities to get to know the other participants. And let’s not forget the evening program!

A detailed program will be published on this website later.

Who will be there?

All 200 participants will be young people aged 18 to 30 from the Nordic and Baltic countries. For some, this is their first international youth conference whereas others have been to at least five. Both are very much okay. You will be hosted by a group of volunteers and staff from the Finnish National Youth Council and Youth Sector. The workshops are arranged by several organizations from all over the region.

What is expected of me?

Before the Summit, you are expected to arrange your travels with our travel agency and select your workshop and working group (don’t worry – all the necessary information will be delivered to you by email). We also expect you to inform us of any special needs you may have so that we can meet your needs as well as possible.

During the program, you are expected to take part in the auditorium program, workshops and working groups. You will get the most out of the Summit if you take part in the group discussions and get to know new people during the program and breaks.

How is safety taken into consideration?

Two Safety Contact Persons will be present throughout the Summit. You can reach out to them with any concerns you may have regarding emotional or physical safety.

Bus guides will be present at all bus rides to look after you and answer any questions you may have.

Hanaholmen has decades of experience in organising such events for hundreds of participants.

What should I wear?

You are welcome to wear whatever you are comfortable in! Come as you are.
